A Snowy Welcome to 2023!

January 1, 2023 by rita.best

Hi Everyone, Happy New Year, and
Welcome to 2023! 🎉🥳🎊

Reno set several weather-related records this weekend. This storm pattern continues, with multiple systems coming in the first week of January. There is more white fluffy stuff on the way. Keep your gloves, hat, and snow shovels close — you’re going to them.

The National Weather Service (NWS) SYNOPSIS…

The active weather pattern continues with more storms lined up, starting with a weaker system late Monday into early Tuesday, followed by a bigger storm later in the week. If you have travel plans over the next couple of weeks, prepare for winter weather and be prepared for periods of gusty winds and hazardous driving conditions. IN THE SHORT TERM (through Tuesday evening)…

To read more about what to expect, see the NWS website.

As to Meadowridge – All Seasons is actively doing its best to keep our streets plowed and cleared of ice and snow, especially for the back-to-work Tuesday commute. That said, the Reno and Sparks Public Works Crews are doing the same thing – digging out. There’s a LOT of snow.

Therefore, plan for delays, and expect messy icy roads. It’s going to be a cold, snowy start to January 2023. Do your best to keep your driveways, sidewalks, and mailboxes clear, be kind to each, and help each other where possible. Most of all, take it slow and easy out there.

This short video posted by the City of Sparks provides some sense of what (Reno & Sparks) public work crews are dealing with out in the wild.

Spent the morning out with our amazing public works crews. So thankful for all they do! Please take a moment to watch this short video. Stay safe out there! #SparksProud #ItsHappeningHere pic.twitter.com/q4gr7ORmmd

Hang tight — You know it won’t be long before we start complaining about the heat and wait anxiously for the pool to open. 😎⛱️
